Rome meets Istanbul

Last week I hosted a wonderful couple from Rome, Lisa and Massi. Well, since they were also EatWith hosts, I was excited to cook for them. Actually I had to amaze them! :) I decided to come up with a dinner which will have at least 1 meal from all regions of Turkey.

The menu was:

  • Mercimek Çorba – Lentil Soup
  • Mısır Ekmeği – Corn Bread
  • Ezme Salata – Chilli Tomato Salad
  • Tahinli Patlıcan Salatası – Eggplant Salad with Tahini
  • Pastırmalı Humus – Humus with Pastirma
  • Mantı
  • Hünkar Beğendi

This is what I like about EatWith and any other online platforms, they are connecting like minded people and doing great on making your day! Such a nice evening and such a nice chat we had. Like I said on my facebook page, they are both passionate about food and cooking and I also need such a relationship! :)

Here are the photos of the evening. Enjoy

Derya, it was such a pleasure for us to meet you, and an honor to try your dishes, thanks for posting the names here! We learned a lot about Turkish and Ottoman cuisine, but we also received a lot of inspiration from you! We look forward to meet again some time soon! :)
